Ephesians 3:11-12, 14

According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him… For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 Hebrews 10:19

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.

Of all the privileges the we have in Christ prayer may be the most amazing. Think about. When we were lost, enemies of God, He sent His son to save us. We are adopted into the Family of God, made heirs with Christ. If that is not enough, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, The Alpha and Omega, lets us talk to Him. Ephesians 3:11-12 says that we have “boldness and access with confidence”,  and Hebrews 10:19 says that we “enter into the holiest with boldness.” The “holiest”, that is the very throne room of God. AMAZING.

In Revelation it talks of our prayers being offered upon the golden altar before the throne. Revelation 5:8 says, “And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” Again in Revelation 8:3, “And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.”

To think the power of prayer, the privilege of prayer, and the lack of prayer in our Churches and our lives. To hear of the saints of old that would pray for 4-8 hours a day or more, and Churches holding 3 to 5 prayer meetings (some lasting all night long) a week. Can we find a handful in our Churches today that will attend a prayer meeting or pray for an hour a day. Do we not understand what the Scriptures are saying? Do we not understand or do we not believe it?

There are so many great verses in the Bible that teach us the importance of prayer, how to pray, and what our focus should be on when we pray. I hope that you take some time and read through some of those. I will leave you with a few more that really AMAZE me at the gift that our GOD has given to us.

Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 7:25, “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” WOW, Jesus is making intercession for us each time we pray. He is our High Priest and He walked as a man, and was tempted so that He is able to understand what we are going through.

Hebrews 9:24, “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:”
